Ukrainian Usyk knocked out Dubois and defended his WBA SUPER, WBO, IBF and IBO titles
MOSCOW, 27 Aug – Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk defeated Briton Daniel Dubois and defended his heavyweight titles for the second time according to the World Boxing Association (WBA Super), World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and International Boxing Organization (IBO).
The fight took place in Wroclaw, Poland, and ended with the victory of the representative of Ukraine by technical knockout in the ninth round. In the fifth round, Dubois received a warning from the referee for a low blow, the fight was interrupted for several minutes.
Usyk now has 21 wins (14 by knockout) in the professional ring with no losses. For the 36-year-old champion, this was the first duel after two title confrontations with Briton Anthony Joshua (winning by unanimous and separate decisions of the judges). The 25-year-old Dubois has 19 wins (18 by knockout) and two losses.
