MOSCOW, 28 Jul – Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay and Chile will submit a joint official bid to host the World Cup in 2030, according to Twitter Football Association of Uruguay.
Earlier it became known that the presidents of the four countries decided to submit a joint application for the organization of the World Cup in 2030, timed to coincide with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup, which was held in Uruguay in 1930.
It is reported that the ceremony of formalizing the application will be held on August 2 at the Centenario stadium in the capital of Uruguay, Montevideo.
The first World Cup among national teams, independently organized by the International Football Federation, was held in Montevideo in July 1930. Then a stadium for 90 thousand spectators was built for the event.
The next world championship will be held in Qatar from November 21 to December 18, 2022.
