MOSCOW, 23 Jul — Undefeated Russian MMA fighter Usman Nurmagomedov has challenged dual Bellator featherweight and lightweight champion Brazilian Patricio Freire.
On the night of July 23 Moscow time, the cousin of the former UFC champion in the lightweight division Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated the American Christopher Gonzalez by submission in the first round at the 283rd number promotion tournament held in Washington.
“I don’t want to talk much. I know that the champion is injured – let me know when he is ready. I want to fight for the title,” the Russian lightweight said after the fight.
