Verstappen wins first practice at Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix
MOSCOW, June 17 – Pilot “Red Bull” Max Verstappen showed the best result in the first practice of the ninth round of the world championship “Formula 1” – the Canadian Grand Prix, which takes place in Montreal at the circuit named after Gilles Villeneuve.
The current world champion completed his best lap in 1 minute 15.158 seconds. Ferrari’s Spanish driver Carlos Sainz was second (0.246 seconds back), while Alpin’s two-time world champion Fernando Alonso was third (+0.373).
Seven-time champion of the “royal races” Briton Lewis Hamilton (“Mercedes”) showed the eighth time (+0.719).
Later on Friday there will be a second free practice. The race will take place on Sunday, starting at 21:00 Moscow time.
