Virender Sehwag gets too big Angry on Team India management for not taking Rishabh Pant to New Zealand T20 series.
The Rishabh Pant has not been playing in the India team for a long time. Rishabh Pant was rested for a match due to injury from the ball. But Indian team management has not played him in any match yet.
Virat has made KL Rahul the wicket-keeper and due to this, Pant is no longer able to make a place in the playing eleven as well.
Former cricketer Virender Sehwag is very disappointed with Rishabh Pant not getting a chance. Taking a dig at Team India management, Sehwag said that if Pant is kept out of the team then how will he score?
Sehwag questioned Team India – When Rishabh Pant did not get a chance in the fourth T20 against New Zealand, Sehwag questioned this decision in a special conversation with Cricbuzz.
Sehwag said, ‘You will also keep Sachin Tendulkar sitting outside, neither can he make it. They can sit and drink water only. Kohli himself says that Pant is a match-winner but he is not giving him a chance, perhaps he believes that he cannot score runs continuously.’
Sehwag said, ‘Rishabh Pant plays all three formats and it is not possible that any player scored in all three formats, it is definitely a flop in one format.’
After this, Virender Sehwag questioned Virat Kohli and said that maybe he does not talk to the players.
Sehwag said, ‘In our time when there were captains whether it was Sourav Ganguly, Anil Kumble or Rahul Dravid, he used to talk to the players. I am not a part of this team, so I do not know if Virat Kohli is talking to the players or not. But it is said about Rohit Sharma that when he went as captain in the Asia Cup, he used to talk to the players. There Rohit used to say that there is a feeling of insecurity among the players and they will feel good only when they are talked to. Going to the media, the captain says anything, but after that, the captain and the coach are talking to the player, then it is important.’
After this, Sehwag also questioned Dhoni’s captaincy. Sehwag alleged that Dhoni used to say something else in the media and he used to talk differently in the team meeting. Sehwag said, ‘Dhoni said in Australia that our top 3 batsmen are slow fielders, he neither asked nor told us. We came to know from the media. He came by speaking in the media but he did not say this in the team meeting. Dhoni said something else in the team meeting.
Sehwag further said, ‘At that time there was talk of bringing a rotation policy if Rohit Sharma was to be given a chance. A player from the top 3 will sit out in a match and Rohit Sharma will play in that match. It was a matter of team meeting but Dhoni told the media that these three players are slow fielders. If this is happening in the current team India too, it is wrong.’
