Vlasov rose to seventh place in the Vuelta standings before the last stage
MOSCOW, September 16 – Russian cyclist Alexander Vlasov from the Bora-Hansgrohe team took 30th place at the 20th stage of the Vuelta a España and rose to seventh position in the general classification of the stage race.
The winner of the stage was the Dutchman Wout Pools from Bahrain Victorious, who covered the 207.8 km distance in 4 hours 59 minutes 29 seconds. The second was the Belgian Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step), the third was the Spaniard Pelayo Sanchez Mayo (Burgos-BH). Vlasov was 10 minutes 21 seconds behind the winner.
In the general classification of the Vuelta, the riders of the Jumbo-Visma team are in the lead. The American Sepp Kuss is first with a total time of 74 hours 23 minutes 42 seconds. The second is the Dane Jonas Vingegaard (+0.17), the third is the Slovenian Primoz Roglic (+1.08). Vlasov is in seventh place, 8 minutes 19 seconds behind the leader.
The final stage will take place on Sunday along a 101.5 km route.
