Zenit beat Rubin and rose to second place in the Russian Championship table
KAZAN, 17 Sep – St. Petersburg “Zenith” defeated Kazan “Rubin” in the match of the eighth round of the Russian football championship.
The meeting in Kazan ended with a score of 3:0 in favor of the guests. The goals were scored by Wilson Isidore (8th minute), Mateo Cassierra (56) and Claudinho (59).
Izidor scored a goal in his debut match for Zenit. Previously, the 23-year-old Frenchman moved to the St. Petersburg club from Lokomotiv Moscow on loan with an obligation to subsequently buy the transfer.

Zenit extended its unbeaten streak in the RPL to five matches and moved up to second place in the standings with 17 points. Rubin is in 13th place with 6 points. In the next round, the St. Petersburg team will host Lokomotiv on September 24, and the Kazan team will play away against the Voronezh Fakel a day later.
